Ecolab Volunteer

Employee Giving and Volunteerism

Contributing to our communities has long been an important part of Ecolab’s goal of helping to make the world a better place. We support programs that help enrich the lives of our friends and neighbors in the communities where we live and work.

Employee Engagement

COMMUNITY GIVING

Through our giving and match programs, we encourage our global employees to support the unique needs of their communities and to participate in a way that works for each individual. Ecolab provides matching funds through these programs:

  • Global Community Giving Program: Donations made by employees to charitable organizations (such as schools, after school youth programs, universities, environment and conservation organizations, arts and culture institutions, food banks, workforce development programs, affordable housing) via the Ecolab Giving Site are eligible for a 100% match from the Ecolab Foundation.
  • Individual Volunteer Grants: Employees may request individual volunteer grants to support qualifying nonprofit organizations that they volunteer with in their communities through our Dollars for Doers and Board Leadership programs.

EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERISM

The success of our company affords all Ecolab associates the opportunity to give back to the community through various volunteer activities.

Employees who wish to volunteer time, to support company sanctioned activities during normal business hours can do so provided service delivery to our customers is maintained at our high professional standard and they have the support of their immediate manager. This participation should be considered part of the associate’s normal workday and is compensable.

Year over year employees demonstrate Ecolab's strong giving culture by participating in our global Community Giving and Volunteer Programs.

A Long History of Giving

Our strong culture of giving was established early in Ecolab’s history. The Ida C. Koran Trust is a prime example. It was created by Ecolab’s first associate, Ida Koran, who worked for Ecolab for 44 years and left a trust fund to be used to make loans and grants to Ecolab employees and retirees. The Trust provides academic financial assistance for dependent children of Ecolab employees and retirees who seek to broaden their horizons through post-secondary study (undergraduate programs, including trade, technical, vocational or traditional university programs). It also offers financial assistance to employees and retirees who experience an unexpected crisis that causes financial hardship.
